A full-size freestanding Bosch dishwasher that takes 14 place settings, runs at 40 decibels and dries with Zeolith rather than lingering heat.
The Series 6 SMS6ZCW10G is a 60cm freestanding dishwasher in white, standing 84.5cm high with a removable worktop so it can also be built under a counter. Fourteen place settings is a genuinely large capacity, and the VarioDrawer takes cutlery on a third level, freeing the basket space that a cutlery box normally occupies.
Its quietest quality is literal. At 40dB, dropping to 39dB on the Silence programme, it runs at a level that suits an open-plan kitchen or a cycle started at bedtime. PerfectDry uses Zeolith minerals and a heat exchanger to finish the load properly, which is where most dishwashers leave plastics and hollows damp.
Ideal For
Fourteen place settings absorbs a full family dinner including serving dishes, so one cycle a day is usually enough rather than two half-empty ones stacked up on the worktop.
Forty decibels, or 39 on the Silence programme, is quiet enough to leave running through an evening in a room that is also used for sitting, eating and talking.
VarioFlex baskets, a three-stage Rackmatic top basket and six foldable plate racks make room for tall glasses, deep bowls and pans without a game of Tetris.

Why Zeolith drying matters
Most dishwashers dry by holding on to the heat of the final rinse, which works on ceramics and glass and disappoints on plastic. PerfectDry uses Zeolith, a mineral that releases heat as it absorbs moisture, alongside a heat exchanger. The result is a load that comes out ready to put away rather than one that needs the door left ajar for twenty minutes. It also happens without pushing energy consumption up, which is how the machine holds a class B rating at 65kWh per 100 cycles.
Six programmes and how to use them
Eco at 50 degrees is the reference cycle, using 9 litres over 3 hours 35 minutes, and it is the one to leave selected for everyday loads. Auto covers 45 to 65 degrees when a load is mixed, Intensive at 70 handles roasting tins, and Express 60 is there for a fast turnaround. Silence at 50 drops the machine to 39dB. A Favourite slot stores whichever cycle you use most, and four options, including Extra Dry, Half Load and SpeedPerfect+, adjust any of them.
Loading it, and where it goes
The VarioDrawer sits above the top basket and takes cutlery flat, which frees the lower basket for pans. The top basket itself adjusts through three Rackmatic heights, and six foldable plate racks split between both baskets flatten for bowls and casseroles. Physically the machine is 84.5 by 60 by 60cm with a 30mm removable worktop, adjustable feet and 115.5cm of depth when the door is open at 90 degrees, so plan for that clearance in a narrow galley.

Legal guarantee
Minimum two-year legal guarantee protection for goods sold in the European Union.
Consumers can claim their rights under the legal guarantee of conformity, for example if goods:
- do not match the description;
- do not function as intended.
Sellers are liable for any lack of conformity which existed when the goods were delivered, and which becomes apparent within the legal guarantee period. Sellers in such a situation are required to offer:
- free repair or free replacement;
- in some cases, a price reduction or full reimbursement.
Some countries have a longer legal guarantee period. For second-hand goods, a shorter period may apply, but not less than one year.
