The Amazfit Active Max puts a big, bright 1.5-inch AMOLED display and a 25-day battery in a watch that weighs under 40g. The 480 x 480 screen peaks at 3,000 nits, so pace and heart rate stay readable in full sun, and the aluminium alloy frame with strengthened, anti-fingerprint glass keeps it light on the wrist through a long run or a night's sleep tracking.

There is 4GB of storage for free offline maps downloaded through the Zepp app, five satellite systems for up to 64 hours of continuous GPS, and 170 sports modes including HYROX and Smart Strength Training that recognises 25 exercises automatically. A built-in speaker and microphone take Bluetooth calls, the BioTracker sensor tracks heart rate, blood oxygen, stress and skin temperature, and it is rated to 5 ATM for swimming.

Amazfit's Active Max is the training watch for people who want a large display without a large bill, and its HybridCharge Energy Intelligence combines training load, BioCharge and daily life load into one readiness picture. Zepp Coach builds adaptive plans from 3K to marathon.

Sleep is scored with stages, naps and breathing quality, heart rate recovery and menstrual cycle tracking are built in, and workouts sync to Strava, adidas Running, TrainingPeaks, komoot, Apple Health and Google Fit. The magnetic charging head is in the box; the USB-C cable is not.

Legal guarantee

Minimum two-year legal guarantee protection for goods sold in the European Union.

Consumers can claim their rights under the legal guarantee of conformity, for example if goods:

  • do not match the description;
  • do not function as intended.

Sellers are liable for any lack of conformity which existed when the goods were delivered, and which becomes apparent within the legal guarantee period. Sellers in such a situation are required to offer:

  • free repair or free replacement;
  • in some cases, a price reduction or full reimbursement.

Some countries have a longer legal guarantee period. For second-hand goods, a shorter period may apply, but not less than one year.

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) is taken back free of charge on a one-for-one, like-for-like basis. Waste batteries including rechargeable batteries are taken back free of charge. You are not obliged to make any purchase when returning old batteries. Each local authority must also accept household WEEE and small batteries free of charge at its recycling facilities. All WEEE and waste batteries must be recycled and should not be placed in any of your household wheelie bins. Make sure you always recycle all your old electrical goods and batteries.
