Bosch Series 2 Fully Integrated 45cm Slimline Dishwasher with Home Connect and InfoLight
A fully integrated 45 cm dishwasher for ten place settings with a three hour forty minute Eco cycle, AquaStop protection and Home Connect control.
The SPV2HKX42G hides behind a furniture door of your choosing, measuring 81.5 by 44.8 by 55 cm and dropping into a standard 450 mm slimline niche. Ten place settings suit couples, apartments and smaller family kitchens where the space between units is better spent on storage than on a full-width machine.
Its Eco 50 programme finishes in three hours forty minutes, shorter than many efficiency-first cycles, using 8.9 litres of water. Controls sit on the top edge of the door, InfoLight projects a red beam onto the floor while the cycle runs, and Home Connect handles remote monitoring, starting and Silence on Demand.
Ideal For
Built to take your own cabinet door, weighing between 2.5 and 7.5 kg, so the dishwasher simply reads as another cupboard in the run of units.
Ten place settings handle a full day of cooking for two or three people, washed on just 8.9 litres of water per Eco 50 cycle.
Eco 50 takes three hours forty minutes, so a load started after dinner is finished long before the kitchen is needed again in the morning.
Key Features
Fits a niche 815 to 875 mm high, 450 mm wide and 550 mm deep, with push button controls on the top edge.
Vario baskets, a height-adjustable top basket, a knife rack and a variable cutlery basket in the lower rack handle the daily load.
The Eco 50 programme runs for three hours forty minutes, using 8.9 litres of water and 76 kilowatt hours per 100 cycles.
Bosch's water protection system is fitted, which is reassuring in a machine that spends its life concealed behind kitchen cabinetry.
A red beam on the floor confirms a programme is running, and an audible signal tells you when the cycle has finished.
Wi-Fi remote monitoring and control, with Hygiene+ and Silence on Demand as add-on functions in the app once the machine is paired.
What fits into a 450 mm niche
Slimline dishwashers are built for the gaps that full-size machines cannot use. This one needs a niche 815 to 875 mm high, 450 mm wide and 550 mm deep, and it takes a furniture front weighing 2.5 to 7.5 kg. Inside, ten place settings load across Vario baskets with a height-adjustable top basket, a knife rack and a variable cutlery basket for everything else.
Five programmes for ordinary loads
Eco 50 is the everyday setting at three hours forty minutes, 8.9 litres and 76 kilowatt hours per 100 cycles. Auto 45-65 reads the load and adjusts, Intensive 70 deals with roasting tins, Express 65 turns glasses around quickly, and the Favourite slot stores whatever combination you keep returning to. Extra Dry and VarioSpeed Plus sit alongside them as options.
Living with a concealed dishwasher
Once the furniture door is on, there is nothing to look at, which is rather the point. InfoLight fills the gap by projecting a red beam onto the floor while the machine works, with a signal at the end of the programme. Home Connect adds the rest: progress and remote start on your phone, plus Silence on Demand when the kitchen needs to be quiet. Delayed start is available at 3, 6 or 9 hours.
How It Compares
| Kitchen Need | Bosch Technology | Practical Benefit |
|---|---|---|
| Matching cabinet fronts | Fully integrated build | Takes your own door, so the kitchen run stays unbroken from one end to the other. |
| Spare 450 mm gap | 45 cm slimline body | Uses a niche too narrow for a full-size dishwasher without any cabinetry alterations. |
| Overnight turnaround | 3:40 Eco cycle | A load started in the evening is washed and ready well before the morning rush. |
| Concealed plumbing | AquaStop water protection | Water protection built into a machine you cannot see, where a slow leak would go unnoticed. |
| Mixed dishes | Auto 45-65 programme | Adjusts the wash temperature to the load instead of asking you to pick a programme. |
| Quiet moments | Silence on Demand | Reduces noise from the app when the kitchen is being used for something else. |
