Bosch Series 6 Freestanding Washer Dryer, 10.5 kg Wash / 6 kg Dry, 1400 rpm
A Series 6 washer dryer that washes 10.5kg at energy label A, dries up to 6kg in the same drum, and turns small loads around in 60 minutes.
One machine, one plumbing point, one gap in the utility room. The WNG25401GB washes up to 10.5kg and dries up to 6kg without moving the laundry anywhere, which matters most in a house or apartment where a separate dryer simply will not fit. The Eco 40-60 wash cycle carries an energy label A rating.
Wash & Dry 60 is the programme people end up using constantly: a small load washed and dried inside an hour. For everything else there is AutoDry, which senses when the load is actually dry instead of running a fixed timer, plus Iron Assist to take some wrinkles out and an Anti Stain option that targets four common stains.
Ideal For
Apartments and terraced houses rarely have room for a washing machine and a dryer side by side. This does both jobs in one 84.8 by 59.8 centimetre footprint, and slides under a worktop.
Wash & Dry 60 handles a small load from dirty to dry in an hour, which covers a school uniform, sports kit or a shirt needed the same evening.
A 10.5kg wash capacity and a 65 litre VarioDrum take bedding and towels in one go, with a Reload function for the sock found after the cycle starts.
Key Features
A 65 litre VarioDrum with a 32cm porthole and 165 degree door opening handles duvet covers, towels and a full family wash in a single load.
Wash and dry without unloading, using a maintenance-free condenser with automatic fluff removal so there is no filter to strip out after every cycle.
A 60 minute programme that washes and dries a small load, sitting alongside Refresh, Intensive Dry and Low Heat among the drying options.
The Eco 40-60 wash cycle uses 51 kWh per 100 cycles and 52 litres of water, reaching the top rung of the current A to G scale.
Sensors decide when the load is dry rather than running a set time, so clothes are not over-baked and the cycle stops when it should.
AntiStain + targets four of the most common stains, while Iron Assist works on wrinkles so the pile waiting for the iron is smaller.
Wash capacity and dry capacity differ
This is the honest arithmetic of every washer dryer. The drum will wash 10.5kg but dry 6kg, because drying needs air moving around the load in a way that a packed drum does not allow. In practice that means a full 10.5kg wash has to be split into two drying runs, or dried in part and finished on an airer. If most of your washes are moderate rather than maximum, the gap rarely bites. Wash & Dry 60 exists precisely for the smaller loads where it never applies at all.
Two energy classes on one label
Bosch quotes two figures because EU rules assess a washer dryer twice. The Eco 40-60 wash-only cycle is rated A, using 51 kWh per 100 cycles and 52 litres per cycle over three hours and 59 minutes. The complete wash-and-dry cycle is rated D, using 306 kWh per 100 cycles, 82 litres and eight hours 40 minutes at full rated capacity. Drying is the expensive part in any machine. Wash on Eco and dry only what needs it, and you spend most of your time in the A-rated half.
Living with it day to day
It runs at 70 dB in noise class A, with AntiVibration Design in the cabinet and an EcoSilence Drive motor. The LED display shows programme status, spin speed, time remaining and a load recommendation, and a 24 hour delay end lets a cycle finish when you want it to. Spin runs from 400 to 1400 rpm. Reload means you can open the door mid-cycle and add the item you missed. The condenser clears its own fluff, and Aqua Protection, foam detection and a child lock cover the rest.
How It Compares
| Kitchen Need | Bosch Technology | Practical Benefit |
|---|---|---|
| One appliance space | Washer dryer in 60cm | Washing and drying share a single 84.8 by 59.8 centimetre footprint, so no second machine has to be found room for. |
| Same-day laundry | Wash & Dry 60 | A small load goes from dirty to dry in 60 minutes, which covers uniforms, sports kit and shirts needed that evening. |
| Bedding and towels | 10.5kg drum, 65 litres | A full family wash including duvet covers and towels fits in one load rather than being split across two. |
| Running costs | Energy label A washing | The Eco 40-60 wash cycle uses 51 kWh per 100 cycles and 52 litres of water per cycle. |
| Over-dried clothes | AutoDry sensor drying | Sensors stop the cycle when the load is actually dry instead of running a fixed timer to the end. |
| Ironing pile | Iron Assist and Easy Iron | Wrinkle reduction on the drying side means fewer items come out needing a full press afterwards. |

The Verdict
Strengths
- Washes 10.5kg and dries 6kg in one machine
- Energy label A on the Eco 40-60 wash
- Wash & Dry 60 finishes small loads in an hour
- AutoDry sensor drying rather than fixed timers
- Maintenance-free condenser with automatic fluff removal

Considerations
- Drying capacity is 6kg against a 10.5kg wash, so a maximum wash load has to be dried in two runs.
- The complete wash-and-dry cycle is rated D and takes eight hours 40 minutes with 82 litres of water at full load.
- There is no Home Connect on this model, and Bosch states the top is not removable, so it cannot be built in that way.
