Description

Bosch Series 6 Freestanding 10kg Washing Machine, White · product code WGG254Z1GB

The Bosch WGG254Z1GB is a Series 6 freestanding washing machine with a 10kg capacity, a 70 litre VarioDrum and a maximum spin of 1400 rpm. It is rated A on the current energy label, using 51 kWh per 100 cycles and 50 litres of water on the Eco 40-60 programme, which runs for three hours and 50 minutes at full load. AntiStain provides four stain removal options selected on the touch panel, and Iron Assist is a steam programme that reduces wrinkles in dry clothes. The programme list adds Dark Wash, Sportswear, Mixed Load, Super Quick 15/30, Hygiene and Drum Clean with a reminder. A large LED display, 24 hour delay end and Reload function handle the day to day, and the EcoSilence Drive motor works with AntiVibration Design.

Full description

A Series 6 washing machine with a 10kg drum, energy label A, AntiStain removal at the touch of a button and an Iron Assist steam programme.

Ten kilos is the capacity that changes how a family does laundry: a double duvet cover, a week of towels or a full basket of mixed washing goes in as one load rather than two. The WGG254Z1GB pairs that 70 litre VarioDrum with an energy label A rating and a 1400 rpm spin, in a standard 60cm cabinet that slides under a worktop.

Two features do most of the visible work. AntiStain gives four stain removal options selected at the touch of a button, so the programme adjusts rather than you guessing at temperatures. Iron Assist is a steam programme that works on wrinkles in dry clothes, which means less of the load comes out of the machine needing a full press afterwards.

Ideal for

Larger families

A 10kg capacity in a 70 litre drum takes bedding, towels and a full week of mixed washing without splitting loads, and the Reload function covers the item found afterwards.

Stain-prone households

AntiStain offers four stain removal options chosen at the touch of a button, and a Hygiene programme with Hygiene Plus handles the loads that need more than a normal wash.

Ironing avoiders

Iron Assist is a steam programme aimed at wrinkles in dry clothes, and a Reduced Ironing option sits among the touch controls for the wash itself.

Key features

10kg wash capacity

A 70 litre VarioDrum with a drum interior light and a black door opening to 160 degrees, sized for bedding and full family loads.

Energy label A

The Eco 40-60 programme uses 51 kWh per 100 cycles and 50 litres of water, reaching the top rung of the current A to G scale.

AntiStain, four options

Four stain removal options are selected directly on the touch controls, so the machine adjusts the cycle instead of leaving you to guess a temperature.

Iron Assist steam

A steam programme that reduces wrinkles in dry clothes, working alongside a Reduced Ironing option so less of the load needs pressing afterwards.

SpeedPerfect and Super Quick

SpeedPerfect cuts cycle time by up to 65 per cent, and Super Quick 15/30 covers the loads that need to be done and out quickly.

Hygiene Plus programme

A dedicated Hygiene programme with Hygiene Plus for bedding, towels and anything else that needs more thorough treatment than a standard wash.

More to know

What a 10kg drum changes

Capacity is the specification people underestimate. A 70 litre drum holding 10kg takes a double duvet cover, or a full week of towels, or the contents of a family laundry basket in one go. The saving is not just electricity: it is a second cycle you do not have to remember to start, and an evening that does not revolve around the machine. VarioDrum's surface pattern is designed to be gentle on fabrics at that volume, and a drum interior light means nothing gets left behind at the back.

Stains, steam and the ironing pile

AntiStain gives four stain removal options selected on the touch panel, and the machine adapts the cycle to suit rather than relying on you choosing the right temperature. Iron Assist is separate: a steam programme run on dry clothes to relax wrinkles, which reduces what ends up under the iron. A Reduced Ironing option is also available during a normal wash. Add Dark Wash for colours, Sportswear for synthetics and Drum Clean with a reminder, and the programme list covers the awkward cases most machines leave to guesswork.

The trade-offs worth knowing about

This is an A-rated machine, and the Eco 40-60 programme takes three hours and 50 minutes at rated capacity to get there on 51 kWh per 100 cycles and 50 litres of water. Noise is 74 dB in class B, which is audible in an open-plan room, though AntiVibration Design and the EcoSilence Drive motor keep it steady through a 1400 rpm spin. There is no Home Connect and no i-DOS automatic dosing on this model. The LED display, 24 hour delay end and Reload function cover the practical side.

  • free repair or free replacement;
  • in some cases, a price reduction or full reimbursement.

Some countries have a longer legal guarantee period. For second-hand goods, a shorter period may apply, but not less than one year.
