A 9 kg Series 6 washing machine rated A for energy, with SpeedPerfect to cut cycle times by up to 65% and AntiStain tackling four common marks.
The WGG244ZCGB is Bosch's freestanding Series 6 washing machine in cast iron grey, holding up to 9 kg of laundry and spinning at up to 1400 rpm. It suits families and sharers who put on several loads a week and want an A-rated machine that keeps running costs in check.
Its eco 40-60 programme uses 49 kWh per 100 cycles and 50 litres of water per cycle, running for 3 hours 48 minutes at full load. When you need laundry sooner, SpeedPerfect shortens most programmes by up to 65%, and Super Quick 15/30 handles a small refresh load in half an hour.
Ideal for
Busy families
Nine kilograms covers bedding, towels and a week of school uniforms in one go, while the 65 litre VarioDrum moves laundry gently enough for delicates and wool hand wash.
Tight utility spaces
At 84.5 by 59.8 cm it slides under a standard worktop, and the AntiVibration sidewall design keeps it steady through a 1400 rpm spin on uneven floors.
Stain-prone households
AntiStain adjusts temperature, drum movement and soaking time for four common stains at the touch of a button, which helps with sport kits, garden clothes and spilled dinners.
Key features
9 kg wash load
Rated at 9.0 kg for the eco 40-60 programme at full load, with a usable range from 1 kg upwards for smaller mid-week washes.
49 kWh per 100 cycles
The A energy rating comes with a weighted consumption of 49 kWh per 100 eco 40-60 cycles and 50 litres of water per cycle.
1400 rpm spin
Spin speed is variable from 0 to 1400 rpm with a B spin drying efficiency class, so you choose between gentler handling and drier laundry.
ActiveWater Plus
Automatic load detection sets the water level to the size and type of the load, so a half-empty drum does not draw a full wash worth of water.
Reload function
Press the button mid-cycle to open the door and add a stray sock or shirt, then carry on with the wash where it left off.
EcoSilence Drive motor
A brushless motor drives the drum with less friction and noise, measured at 51 dB(A) while washing and 71 dB(A) during the spin.
More to know
What the A rating buys you
Energy labels for washing machines run from A to G, and this Series 6 sits at the top. Bosch measures 49 kWh per 100 cycles of the eco 40-60 programme, along with 50 litres of water per cycle. The trade-off is time: the eco programme runs for 3 hours 48 minutes at full load, because lower temperatures and longer soaking do the work that heat would otherwise do.
Programmes for real laundry piles
Alongside cottons, easy-care, delicates and wool hand wash, there is a set of programmes aimed at specific jobs: Jeans for dark colours, SportsWear, Mixed Load, Hygiene Plus, Single Rinse, Drain and Spin, and Super Quick 15/30. Iron Assist is a steam programme that works on dry clothes to soften creases, and Drum Clean reminds you when the drum itself needs a maintenance wash.
Living with it day to day
The 32 cm porthole opens to 165 degrees, which makes loading a full basket straightforward and unloading easier still, helped by an interior drum light. A large LED display shows programme status, selected spin speed, remaining time and a load recommendation, with delay end times up to 24 hours. There is a child lock, a foam detection system and multiple water protection, and the easy-clean dispenser has its own divider for liquid detergent. Depth is 59 cm, or 63.6 cm including the door.

Sellers are liable for any lack of conformity which existed when the goods were delivered, and which becomes apparent within the legal guarantee period. Sellers in such a situation are required to offer:
- free repair or free replacement;
- in some cases, a price reduction or full reimbursement.
Some countries have a longer legal guarantee period. For second-hand goods, a shorter period may apply, but not less than one year.

- Contact the seller as soon as possible to report the issue;
- Provide proof of purchase, such as a receipt, invoice, or bank statement.
Sellers and producers may also offer commercial guarantees, which apply independently from the legal guarantee. For example, you may see this GARAN label representing a commercial guarantee of durability offered by the producer at no additional cost and covering the entire good.
