Bosch Series 8 Built-In Fully Automatic Bean to Cup Coffee Machine
A built-in bean to cup machine with a 19 bar pump, ceramic grinder and 6.8 inch touchdisplay, fitting flush into a 45 cm kitchen niche.
Built into the run of units rather than standing on the worktop, the Series 8 CTL7181B0 grinds, brews and froths in one place. It suits kitchens where the coffee routine matters enough to design around, and where another machine on the counter would be one appliance too many. The finish is black, and installation is into a fitted niche.
The interface does much of the work. A 6.8 inch TFT colour touchdisplay with touch and slide control fronts up to 30 saved beverages, so everyone in the house can have their drink exactly as they want it. Grinding is handled by the wear-resistant ceramDrive ceramic grinder, adjustable across multiple levels, and the pump runs to 19 bar.
Ideal For
Up to 30 personalised drinks can be saved, so a house full of different orders stops being a negotiation. oneTouch DoubleCup pours two at once when the order matches.
Measuring 45.5 x 59.4 x 38.5 cm and fitting a 449 x 558 x 376 mm niche, it lines up with built-in ovens and drawers instead of occupying worktop space.
A 0.7 litre integrated milk container with adjustable milk ratio covers flat whites and cappuccinos, and autoMilk Clean rinses the milk system after every single drink.
Key Features
The pump runs to 19 bar, working with the ceramic grinder and the aroma settings to pull each beverage from freshly ground beans rather than anything pre-measured.
A colour TFT display with touch and slide control replaces the usual grid of buttons, so choosing a drink and adjusting it happen in the same place.
Save up to 30 personalised beverages, each with its own settings, so nobody has to reset strength, length and milk ratio every morning.
A wear-resistant ceramic grinder with multi-level adjustment, so the grind can be matched to the beans in the 400 g container above it.
The water tank holds 2.4 litres and lifts out for filling, while the bean container takes 400 g under an aroma protection lid.
Home Connect allows remote monitoring and control from the app, and a child lock keeps the machine secure when it is not being used.
Grinding, brewing and aroma control
Every cup starts at the ceramDrive grinder, a wear-resistant ceramic unit adjustable across several levels so the grind suits the beans in the 400 g hopper. From there the 19 bar pump takes over. aromaSelect offers three profiles to change the character of the drink, and aromaDouble Shot grinds and brews twice for a stronger cup with less bitterness. oneTouch DoubleCup handles two drinks in a single press.
Milk, cleaning and daily upkeep
The 0.7 litre milk container is integrated rather than a separate jug, and the milk ratio is adjustable, so a flat white and a cappuccino are genuinely different drinks. autoMilk Clean rinses the milk system after every beverage, which is the part people usually neglect. calc'nClean combines descaling and cleaning in one guided routine, the brewing unit comes out for rinsing, and the beverage outlet, drip tray and drip pans are dishwasher-safe.
Fitting it into the kitchen
This is a built-in machine, designed for a 449 x 558 x 376 mm niche in a standard tall unit, and it measures 45.5 x 59.4 x 38.5 cm at 21.2 kg. Planning that space is part of the purchase. Once in, the illuminated beverage outlet adjusts in height for glasses up to 16 cm, so a latte glass fits under it as easily as an espresso cup. Home Connect adds remote monitoring and control, and a child lock covers a kitchen with small hands in it.
How It Compares
| Kitchen Need | Bosch Technology | Practical Benefit |
|---|---|---|
| Different drinks daily | 30 saved favourites | Each household member's drink is stored with its own settings and recalled without adjusting anything. |
| No spare worktop | Built-in installation | The machine sits in a 449 x 558 x 376 mm niche in the units, leaving the counter clear. |
| Milky coffee at home | 0.7 L integrated milk container | Warm milk, milk froth and an adjustable milk ratio, with hot water available for tea or americanos. |
| Two cups at once | oneTouch DoubleCup | Two identical drinks are prepared from a single press, useful when two people leave at the same time. |
| Keeping it clean | autoMilk Clean and calc'nClean | The milk system rinses after every drink, and descaling and cleaning run as one guided programme. |
| Tall latte glasses | Height adjustable outlet | The illuminated beverage outlet moves to suit glasses up to 16 cm tall without splashing. |

The Verdict
Strengths
- 19 bar pump with wear-resistant ceramDrive ceramic grinder
- Up to 30 personalised beverages saved and recalled
- 6.8 inch TFT colour touchdisplay with slide control
- Integrated 0.7 litre milk container with adjustable ratio
- autoMilk Clean after every drink and calc'nClean descaling

Considerations
- This is a built-in appliance: it needs a 449 x 558 x 376 mm niche and fitting into the units, not a corner of worktop.
- Water comes from a removable 2.4 litre tank and beans from a 400 g container, so both are topped up by hand.
- The beverage outlet adjusts for glasses up to 16 cm tall, so taller travel mugs will not fit underneath it.
What's in the Box
- Built-in fully automatic coffee machine x1
- Water hardness test strip x1

- free repair or free replacement;
- in some cases, a price reduction or full reimbursement.
Some countries have a longer legal guarantee period. For second-hand goods, a shorter period may apply, but not less than one year.
