Heat pump dryers work at lower temperatures than vented or condenser machines, which is easier on clothes and lighter on electricity. The Haier X Series 5 pushes that further: its Low Temp Dry programme runs at just 32°C, gentle enough for the things you would normally hang on a rack instead.

I-Time measures how damp the load is and stops when it is dry, rather than when a timer says so. If the load is headed for the ironing board, Iron Reminder alerts you at 6 per cent humidity, which is the point where creases press out most easily. Nine kilograms of capacity takes a full family wash in one go.

Low Temp Dry at 32°C

A dedicated low-temperature programme that helps preserve fabric fibres and uses less energy doing it. It is the setting for the clothes you were always nervous about putting in a dryer.

I-Time stops when the load is dry

Instead of running to a fixed time, I-Time is a customised cycle that ends at the ideal drying level, so clothes are neither left damp nor baked for twenty minutes longer than they needed.

Hygienic and I-Refresh programmes

Both are certified by VDE to remove 99 per cent of bacteria. Hygienic is for bedding and towels; I-Refresh freshens clothes that have been worn once and do not need a full wash.

Pillow Drum

The stainless steel drum is laser-welded so it is entirely seamless, with a cushioned pattern that lets fabric glide rather than snag. It is the detail that keeps knitwear from pilling.

Triple filter, with a warning when it blocks

A 3-in-1 filter system catches lint, fluff and fibres before they reach the heat pump, and a blocked filter indicator tells you when it needs a rinse. Full tank and end-of-cycle indicators cover the rest.

hOn app over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth

The app suggests a programme based on what you washed, how fast it was spun and how much there is, then keeps you posted on progress. The Favorite function saves your preferred settings so the next load is one press.

What the D rating means

The EU rescaled tumble dryer labels in 2025, and this model is class D on the new A to G scale at 128kWh per 100 cycles; Haier lists it as A++ on the previous scale. It condenses 91 per cent of the moisture it removes (class B) and runs at 64dB.
