Judge Sandwich, Grill & Waffle Maker

A 3-in-1 sandwich, grill and waffle maker with interchangeable dishwasher-safe plates, a ready-to-use indicator light, and upright storage to save worktop space.

The Judge JEA59 is a 3-in-1 machine that makes toasted sandwiches, paninis and waffles from the same body, swapping between three interchangeable plates rather than owning three separate appliances. A ready-to-use indicator light shows when it's up to temperature, and the whole thing stands upright afterwards, taking up a fraction of the worktop space a flat sandwich press would.

Switching between sandwiches, paninis and waffles just means changing the plate set, not buying a new machine, and all three are dishwasher safe once they're unclipped. At 2.32kg it's substantial enough to feel solid in use, without being too heavy to store standing on its side in a cupboard between breakfasts.

Ideal for

Breakfast to dinner

Swap the plates and the same machine covers a weekday waffle breakfast, a lunchtime panini and a toasted sandwich for dinner, without three separate appliances to store.

Small kitchens

Standing upright for storage, it takes up a fraction of the space a flat sandwich press or waffle iron would need on a shelf or in a cupboard drawer.

Easy family cleanup

All three plate sets are dishwasher safe, so breakfast waffles or a late toasted sandwich don't mean handwashing plates afterwards, whatever time of day they get used.

Key features

3 interchangeable plates

Swap between sandwich, grill and waffle plates on the same base unit, rather than owning three separate machines that each need their own cupboard space.

Makes 3 different meals

Toasted sandwiches, paninis and fresh waffles all come from the same appliance, just by changing which plates are clipped in.

Dishwasher-safe plates

All three plate sets go straight in the dishwasher once removed, rather than needing a careful hand-wash after every use.

Ready-to-use indicator light

A light shows when the plates have reached temperature, so there's no guessing whether it's ready to cook on yet.

Upright storage

It stands on its edge for storage rather than lying flat, taking up noticeably less worktop or cupboard space day to day.

Aluminium cooking plates

Judge lists the plates as aluminium, giving even heat across the sandwich, grill and waffle surfaces as they cook, rather than just at the centre.

More to know

Three appliances, one plate swap away

A toasted sandwich maker, a panini press and a waffle iron are all useful, but few kitchens have room to keep all three out, or budget to buy them separately. The JEA59 solves that by keeping one base unit and three interchangeable plate sets, so switching from Saturday morning waffles to a Tuesday lunchtime toastie is a matter of clipping in a different plate rather than reaching for a different machine entirely.

Built to disappear when not in use

Small appliances tend to earn their keep or get shoved in a cupboard and forgotten, and worktop space is usually the deciding factor. The JEA59 stands upright for storage rather than lying flat, which matters more than it sounds: a machine that takes up a sliver of a cupboard shelf gets reached for far more often than one that needs a drawer to itself. That's really what upright storage buys here, not a gimmick but a reason to actually use it midweek.

Dishwasher-safe plates, three times over

The plates are where a lot of multi-function appliances fall down: interesting in the shop, then abandoned because cleaning three separate cooking surfaces by hand isn't worth the hassle. Judge makes all three JEA59 plate sets dishwasher safe, so switching from waffles to sandwiches to paninis doesn't come with three lots of washing-up attached. Combined with the ready-to-use indicator light, which takes the guesswork out of when to start cooking, the whole appliance is built around removing the small frictions that stop a 3-in-1 machine getting used regularly.
