Full description

The Ninja FrostVault 45QT/42L Wheeled Cooler with Dry Zone Slate Grey is a hard-sided cool box on all-terrain wheels, with a separate Dry Zone drawer that keeps food cold and dry.

It is the middle size of Ninja's wheeled FrostVault coolers (28L, 42L and 61L). Cold transfers into the Dry Zone drawer, so you can take food out without digging through ice or opening the lid. The 42-litre cooler holds up to 68 cans with no ice, or 32 cans with ice, behind up to 7cm of insulation.

What stands out

Dry Zone drawer

The drawer keeps food separate from the drinks and ice, so it does not need to go into watertight containers first. Ninja says the drawer stays under 4.5°C for days (Ninja internal test at 25°C, with the cooler filled with ice and closed).

Ice retention

In Ninja's laboratory test, filled with ice, this cooler stayed below 4.4°C for about 6 days in 35°C weather. Ninja notes that results vary in real-world use.

Moving it

All-terrain wheels and a rickshaw pull handle, plus moulded carry handles for lifting it or tying it down in a car, campervan or trailer. The closed cooler can also be used as a seat.

Security

The lid is lockable and the Dry Zone drawer has its own latch.

  • free repair or free replacement;
  • in some cases, a price reduction or full reimbursement.

Some countries have a longer legal guarantee period. For second-hand goods, a shorter period may apply, but not less than one year.
