Description

Samsung 50" U8000H 4K Ultra HD HDR Smart TV (2026) · product code UE50U8000HKXXU

The Samsung U8000H is a 2026 Crystal UHD 4K television offered in eight sizes, from 43 inches to 85, including the 58 and 70 inch panels that most size ladders skip. Every size shares the same specification: a 3840 x 2160 LED LCD panel, the Crystal Processor 4K for upscaling, HDR10+ decoding, UHD Dimming, Mega Contrast and Colour Booster, with Filmmaker Mode and a Football Mode preset.

Sound is 20 W across two channels with Object Tracking Sound Lite, Adaptive Sound and Q-Symphony for pairing with a compatible Samsung soundbar. Tizen with One UI handles apps, Samsung TV Plus and voice control. Gaming support covers Auto Game Mode, VRR and HGiG, and there are three HDMI inputs with eARC, a USB-A port, Ethernet, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.3. Samsung publishes the same spec table for the U7000H; the confirmed differences are the stand colour and the two extra sizes.

50" U8000H 4K Ultra HD HDR Smart TV

The U8000H is Samsung's 2026 Crystal UHD line in Titan Gray: a 4K LED LCD panel, Crystal Processor 4K upscaling, HDR10+ and Tizen, offered across eight screen sizes.

Eight sizes, one specification. The U8000H runs from 43 inches to 85, and it includes 58 and 70 inch panels, the in-between sizes that suit an alcove, a chimney breast or a fixed piece of furniture. Everything else is the Crystal UHD recipe: a 4K LED LCD panel driven by the Crystal Processor 4K, with Tizen on top.

Samsung publishes the same specification table for the U8000H as for the U7000H at every shared size, so the choice between them comes down to the stand finish and whether you need one of the two extra sizes. Here the feet are Titan Gray rather than black. Picture, sound, ports and software are identical on paper.

The value in the U8000H is the size ladder, not the specification: eight options, including the 58- and 70-inch middle ground, all on the same Crystal UHD hardware.

Ideal For

Rooms with a measured gap

With 43, 50, 55, 58, 65, 70, 75 and 85 inch options, there is usually a size that fits the alcove rather than one that nearly does.

Households upgrading from HD

The Crystal Processor 4K rebuilds broadcast and streamed pictures for a 3840 x 2160 panel, which is where most of the visible gain over an older set comes from.

A neutral, grey-footed finish

Titan Gray feet and a three-sided bezel-less cabinet sit more quietly against light walls and pale furniture than a black one does.

The size ladder is the point

Size ladders usually jump from 55 to 65 to 75, which is fine until you measure the space you actually have. The U8000H adds 58 and 70 inch panels to the usual 43, 50, 55, 65, 75 and 85, and the specification does not change as you move up. Weight and mounting do: the 43 inch is 6.7 kg with its stand, the 85 inch is 28.9 kg, and the larger sizes use a different VESA pattern from the smaller ones.

Picture processing, plainly described

The panel is LED LCD at 3840 x 2160. Crystal Processor 4K does the reconstruction work, UHD Dimming and Mega Contrast manage the brightness range, Contrast Enhancer digs into shadow detail and Colour Booster widens the palette. HDR10+ is decoded when a disc or app supplies it. Filmmaker Mode turns the enhancements down for films mastered to be watched that way, and there is a Football Mode preset that does the opposite for match days.

Living with it day to day

Tizen with One UI runs the apps and Samsung TV Plus, Bixby and the Vision AI Companion handle voice, and Samsung lists Gaming Hub availability country by country, so check what is live locally before counting on cloud gaming. Consoles get Auto Game Mode, VRR and HGiG. Sound is 20 W across two channels with Object Tracking Sound Lite and Adaptive Sound, and eARC on one HDMI port keeps a soundbar on a single cable.

The Verdict

Why it stands out

Eight sizes including 58 and 70 inch
Same Crystal UHD specification at every size
HDR10+, Filmmaker Mode and Football Mode presets
Titan Gray feet and three-sided bezel-less cabinet
eARC and Q-Symphony for soundbar owners

Worth knowing

Samsung publishes an identical spec table for the U7000H, so the only confirmed differences are the Titan Gray stand and the extra 58 and 70 inch sizes.
The panel is listed at 50 Hz on Samsung's spec tab, with Motion Xcelerator doing the work on fast sport rather than a higher native refresh.
Audio stays at 20 W and two channels right up to 85 inches, and the VESA pattern changes on the larger sizes, so check your bracket.

What’s in the Box

Samsung publishes no box contents list for the U8000H, so rather than guess we will say only what is certain to be there: the television, its Titan Gray feet with fixings and a remote control, with the packaging insert confirming the rest.

Model: UE50U8000HKXXU. Specifications are based on Samsung’s published UK/Ireland product information for this exact model and may be updated by the manufacturer.
