An electric BBQ runs on electricity, so there is no charcoal or gas to buy. Our range has two kinds: the Cecotec PerfectCountry, a grill and griddle on steel legs, and three Ninja Woodfire models that grill, smoke and air fry. They differ in plate size, functions, built-in probes and where you can use them.

Grill and griddle, or grill and smoker
The Cecotec PerfectCountry is a 2000 W grill and griddle. The surface is a non-stick cast-aluminium plate for meat, vegetables, eggs, fish and shellfish, and the folding lid works as a convection oven. An adjustable thermostat gives you 5 power levels, and the plate and fat drip tray come off for the dishwasher.
The Ninja Woodfire OG701, OG850 and OG901 are grills and smokers. Electricity does the cooking, and a smoker box burns natural wood pellets to add smoke flavour. The pellets are for flavour, not fuel. On the OG850 and OG901 one scoop is enough, and you can add smoke flavour to any cooking function.
Each Woodfire grill comes with pellets to start: one starter pack with the OG701, and two with the OG850 and OG901, one of each blend. The Robust Blend suits beef, pork and chicken; the All-Purpose Blend suits fish and vegetables.

Plate size and how much you cook
Capacity is given as plate size or food, not people. Think about what you cook most.
- Cecotec PerfectCountry: a 43 x 38 cm grill and griddle surface.
- Ninja Woodfire OG701: a 28 x 38 cm plate for up to 8 burgers or 2 racks of ribs.
- Ninja Woodfire XL OG850: a 45 x 31 cm plate for up to 10 burgers, 40 hot dogs, 2 full racks of ribs, 6 steaks or two 3kg chickens. The crisper basket air fries up to 1.8kg.
- Ninja Woodfire Pro Connect XL OG901: up to 10 burgers, 40 hot dogs or two whole 3kg chickens.
The OG701 is the compact Woodfire: 34 x 46 x 46 cm (H x W x D), 12 kg, with a 2 m cord. The OG901 measures 41 x 57 x 51 cm (H x W x D).
Heat and cooking modes
The OG701 and OG850 both reach 260°C. The OG850 has heating elements at the top and bottom and a convection fan. You can grill with the lid open, or close it for thick cuts and frozen food. The OG850 and OG901 cook from frozen, with no need to defrost first. All three Woodfire grills come with a crisper basket for air frying.
The Cecotec takes about 3 minutes to preheat, and preheats faster with the lid down. With the lid down it reaches up to 215°C; with the lid off, up to 195°C. Both figures are give or take 25°C.

Built-in probe and app
The OG850 and OG901 have a built-in probe. Put it in the food, choose the food type and a finish from rare to well done, and the grill tracks the temperature as it cooks and tells you when the food is ready to come off. The OG901 adds the Pro Connect app, so you can control the grill and follow the cook from your phone.
The Cecotec and the OG701 have no built-in probe listed. For those, a wireless meat thermometer (below) tracks the food's temperature.
Where you can use them
The three Ninja Woodfire grills are outdoor grills, rated IPX4 and weather resistant for year-round outdoor use. The OG850 and OG901 are for outdoor use only, in gardens, patios, campsites and balconies.
The Cecotec PerfectCountry is for the garden or patio, and it can also be used indoors as a griddle. Indoors, leave the lid off, set it on a heatproof surface and keep it at least 30 cm from walls and other objects. It is rated IPX4 for splashes, but don't leave it out in rain or snow.
Accessories that fit
- Cover: the Ninja Woodfire Grill Cover fits the OG700 series only, so of these four it fits the OG701. It is anti-fade, water-resistant fabric with an elastic drawstring.
- Stand: the Ninja Woodfire Universal Stand & Side Table fits the OG701, OG850 and OG901. The height adjusts, and the side table gives you space to prepare food. The Cecotec has its own steel legs and a lower shelf.
- Pellets: the Woodfire Pellets Robust Blend is a 900g bag of hickory, cherry, maple and oak, made for Ninja Woodfire products. One bag covers up to 20 cooking sessions.
- Thermometers: the MEATER Plus is a wire-free probe with 2 sensors, a range of up to 165 ft and a 275°C ambient limit. The MEATER Pro has 6 sensors and a 550°C ambient limit. The Ninja ProChef probe withstands up to 370°C and sends alerts through the Ninja Pro Connect app, with up to 50 m Bluetooth range.
