Of the three electric pizza ovens here, one is made for outdoors and two are countertop ovens for the kitchen. The outdoor oven also roasts and smokes. The countertop ovens are built around pizza. All three reach 370°C or more, so the choice comes down to space, stated cooking time, pizza size and what else you want to cook.

In short
  • The Woodfire Outdoor Oven goes outside; the My Pizzeria and Pizzaiolo sit on a kitchen worktop.
  • All three reach 370°C or more, and the Pizzaiolo bakes a 30cm pizza in 2 minutes.
  • The outdoor oven also roasts, smokes, bakes and dehydrates.

The three ovens at a glance

Oven Where it goes Top temperature Stated pizza time
Kenwood My Pizzeria Kitchen worktop 400°C Not stated
Ninja Woodfire Electric Outdoor Oven Outdoors 370°C Under 3 minutes
Sage Smart Oven Pizzaiolo Kitchen worktop 400°C 2 minutes for a 30cm pizza

Outdoor oven or worktop oven

The Ninja Woodfire Electric Outdoor Oven is made for cooking outside. It is powered by electricity and cooks without flames. An integrated smoker box burns natural wood pellets for smoky flavour. For a stand, the Ninja Woodfire Universal Stand & Side Table lists the OO101 as compatible. It has an adjustable height and a side table for food preparation.

The Kenwood My Pizzeria and the Sage Smart Oven Pizzaiolo are countertop ovens for the kitchen. The My Pizzeria is listed for indoor use. It has a compact countertop design and is easy to store, but it needs worktop space while it is on. The Pizzaiolo is finished in brushed stainless steel. It has a double-pane heat-resistant front window and multi-material insulation.

Top temperature and cooking time

The My Pizzeria and the Pizzaiolo both reach 400°C. The Woodfire Outdoor Oven reaches 370°C. Its range starts at 40°C, and it has Smoker and Dehydrate functions as well as Pizza.

Only two of the three state a pizza time:

  • Sage Smart Oven Pizzaiolo: a 30cm pizza in 2 minutes, at up to 400°C.
  • Ninja Woodfire Electric Outdoor Oven: pizzas in under 3 minutes, with no need to turn them.
  • Kenwood My Pizzeria: no time is given.

Because the Woodfire oven uses electric heat, you can bake pizzas back to back, so everyone can add their own toppings.

Pizza size

The Pizzaiolo is sold as a 30cm countertop pizza oven. The Woodfire Outdoor Oven and the My Pizzeria don't state a pizza size. The pizza peel made for the Woodfire Outdoor Oven is sized for 12-inch (30cm) pizzas.

“Decide where the oven will live first, then compare heat, pizza size and what comes in the box.”

Pizza settings

  • Woodfire Outdoor Oven: six pizza presets: Artisan, Thin, New York, Deep Pan, Calzone and Custom.
  • Pizzaiolo: five preset pizza settings: Wood Fired, New York, Pan, Thin & Crispy and Frozen. Manual Mode lets you set the deck and top temperatures yourself. The Element iQ system replicates the conductive, radiant and convective heat of a brick oven.
  • My Pizzeria: preset pizza programmes and adjustable temperature control, for Neapolitan-style pizzas, deep-pan or your own recipes.

Cooking beyond pizza

The Woodfire Outdoor Oven has 8 cooking functions: Pizza, Max Roast, Gourmet Roast, Top Heat, Bake, Smoker, Dehydrate and Keep Warm. It fits a whole 3kg chicken with vegetables, a 5kg beef joint or 2 racks of ribs. It also bakes breads and garlic bread, and the Smoker function cooks low and slow BBQ such as ribs or pork shoulder. One scoop of pellets adds smoky flavour at any temperature.

The countertop ovens are pizza ovens first. The My Pizzeria is designed mainly for pizza and high-temperature baking. Every preset on the Pizzaiolo is a pizza style, and it comes with a deep-dish pizza pan.

Stones, peels and what's in the box

A pizza stone absorbs and spreads the heat, which helps the base crisp. A peel is the flat paddle used to slide pizzas and breads in and out of the oven.

  • Kenwood My Pizzeria: pizza stone.
  • Ninja Woodfire Electric Outdoor Oven: pizza stone, roast rack, Pro-Heat tray, pellet scoop and 2 Woodfire pellet starter packs.
  • Sage Smart Oven Pizzaiolo: pizza peel and deep-dish pizza pan.

Only the Pizzaiolo lists a peel in the box.
