Belling's BL40WH is a 40-litre table-top larder fridge that fits where a full-size fridge cannot: on a worktop, under a desk, in a bedroom or in an office. A wire shelf and two door shelves take drinks, milk, snacks and packed lunches, and because there is no ice box every litre of the cabinet is usable chilled space rather than a frosted-up corner you have to clear.

It stands 51cm tall, 44cm wide and 47cm deep, sits level on adjustable screw-on feet and runs at 39dB, so it will not keep anyone awake. Rated E on the EU energy label at 79kWh a year, it is a simple, low-cost way to add chilled storage to a room, and the plain white finish and wipe-clean interior keep it looking tidy.

The Belling BL40WH is a table-top fridge for the places a full-size appliance makes no sense: a bedroom, a home office, a student room or a home bar. At 51cm tall and 44cm wide it is small enough for a counter or a sturdy shelf, and its 40 litres hold cartons, cans, snacks and lunches on a wire shelf, with two shelves in the door for bottles and jars.

A chiller plate at the back of the cabinet does the cooling, the compressor is rated at 39dB and the EU label gives it class E with 79kWh of consumption a year. Adjustable feet level it on an uneven surface, defrosting is manual and the interior is a plain moulded liner that wipes clean in a minute.

Minimum two-year legal guarantee protection for goods sold in the European Union.

Consumers can claim their rights under the legal guarantee of conformity, for example if goods:

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) is taken back free of charge on a one-for-one, like-for-like basis. Waste batteries including rechargeable batteries are taken back free of charge. You are not obliged to make any purchase when returning old batteries. Each local authority must also accept household WEEE and small batteries free of charge at its recycling facilities. All WEEE and waste batteries must be recycled and should not be placed in any of your household wheelie bins. Make sure you always recycle all your old electrical goods and batteries.
