Description

Bosch Series 2 60cm Pyramid Chimney Cooker Hood, Stainless Steel · product code DWP64BC50B

The Bosch DWP64BC50B is a Series 2 pyramid chimney hood in stainless steel, sized for a standard 60 cm hob and mounted on the wall above it. Ducted to the outside it extracts up to 365 m³/h, with 211 m³/h available in recirculating mode using the optional DHZ5275 kit. Three power levels are selected on simple mechanical push buttons, and the washable aluminium grease filter can go in the dishwasher.

Two LED lamps light the hob with 104 lux of neutral 3,500 K light. The canopy measures 60 by 50 cm and the telescopic chimney adjusts between 79.9 and 97.5 cm, so it can be set to suit the ceiling height. Bosch asks for at least 550 mm above an electric hob or 650 mm above gas. Maximum noise is 66 dB(A) and the energy efficiency class is D, with annual consumption of 53.1 kWh.

Bosch Series 2 60cm Wall-Mounted Pyramid Chimney Cooker Hood

A 60 cm wall-mounted pyramid hood that clears 365 m³/h on its top setting, with three mechanical speeds and two neutral-white LEDs over the hob.

The DWP64BC50B is Bosch's Series 2 pyramid chimney hood, sized for a standard 60 cm hob and finished in stainless steel. It mounts on the wall above the cooker, with a tapered canopy that draws steam and cooking smells up into a telescopic chimney. Three push-button speeds are all the controls there are, which suits anyone who wants a hood that simply works.

Ducted to an outside wall it moves up to 365 m³/h, enough to keep a busy 60 cm hob clear on the highest of its three settings. Two LED lamps throw 104 lux of neutral 3,500 K light across the pans, and the aluminium grease filter lifts out for a run through the dishwasher.

Three speeds, two lights and a filter you can put in the dishwasher: this is extraction stripped back to what most kitchens actually use.

Ideal For

Standard hob widths

Sized to sit over a 60 cm hob and rise to 97.5 cm at full chimney extension, it fits the layout most Irish kitchens already have.

Simple controls

Mechanical push buttons mean no menus, no touch panel to wipe clean and nothing to relearn. Press for the speed you want, press again for the light, done.

Kitchen refits

Convertible between ducted and recirculating operation, so it can vent outside where a duct run exists or work with a recirculation kit where it does not.

Key Features

365 m³/h extraction

Ducted to the outside, the top speed shifts up to 365 m³/h of steam and cooking air, with 211 m³/h available when running in recirculation mode.

Three power levels

A low setting for simmering, a middle one for everyday cooking and a third for the moments when something catches. All selected on straightforward push buttons.

2 x LED lamps

Two LEDs deliver 104 lux at a neutral 3,500 K, lighting the hob surface without the yellow cast older halogen lamps used to throw.

Dishwasher-safe grease filter

The washable aluminium grease filter goes straight into the dishwasher, so degreasing is part of a normal wash cycle rather than a separate job at the sink.

Ducted or recirculating

Convertible operation covers both installation routes. Ducted through a 120 or 150 mm outlet where you have one, or recirculating with the DHZ5275 kit where you do not.

7.7 kg canopy

At 7.7 kg this is a light hood to lift into place, and the telescopic chimney adjusts from 79.9 to 97.5 cm to meet the ceiling line.

What 365 cubic metres buys you

Extraction rate is the number that matters most in a hood, and 365 m³/h on the top ducted setting is a solid figure for a standard 60 cm hob. In practice that means steam from a pot of pasta clears rather than settling on the wall units, and the smell of fried onions does not follow you into the sitting room. Run it a few minutes before you start and a few minutes after, and the kitchen stays noticeably fresher.

Ducted or recirculating: choosing your setup

If your kitchen has an external wall behind or near the hob, ducting is the better option: the air, grease and moisture leave the house entirely, and the hood works at its full 365 m³/h. Where a duct run is not possible, the DHZ5275 recirculation kit filters the air and returns it to the room at up to 211 m³/h. The kit is an optional accessory, so factor it into your plans if you are going that route.

Fitting it above your hob

The canopy is 60 cm wide and 50 cm deep, with the chimney extending from 79.9 cm to 97.5 cm to suit standard and taller ceilings. Bosch specifies a minimum 550 mm between the hob and the underside of the hood over electric, or 650 mm over gas, so measure that gap before you commit to a height. The 1.3 m power cord means the socket needs to be within reach, and at 7.7 kg the wall fixings have an easy job.

How It Compares

Kitchen Need Bosch Technology Practical Benefit
Everyday hob cooking 3 power levels Match the speed to the job, from a gentle simmer to a full fry-up.
Steamy pasta nights 365 m³/h ducted extraction Clears moisture quickly on the top setting so it does not settle on wall units and paintwork.
No external wall Recirculation with DHZ5275 kit Filtered air returns to the room at up to 211 m³/h when ducting outside is not possible.
Dim hob lighting 2 x LED, 104 lux Neutral 3,500 K light lands on the pans so you can judge colour while cooking.
Cleaning filters Dishwasher-safe aluminium filter Lift the grease filter out and let the dishwasher deal with it on a normal cycle.
Tall ceilings 79.9-97.5 cm chimney The telescopic chimney extends to almost a metre, closing the gap to higher ceiling lines neatly.

The Verdict

Strengths

  • Up to 365 m³/h extraction when ducted outside
  • Three mechanical push-button speeds, nothing to learn
  • Two LEDs give 104 lux at 3,500 K
  • Washable aluminium grease filter is dishwasher-safe
  • Converts between ducted and recirculating operation
  • Light 7.7 kg body with 79.9-97.5 cm chimney
  • Stainless steel finish across a 60 cm canopy

Considerations

  • Recirculation needs the optional DHZ5275 kit, and drops maximum airflow to 211 m³/h compared with 365 m³/h when ducted.
  • At full speed it measures 66 dB(A), which is audible in an open-plan room; the lower settings are quieter.
  • Energy efficiency class D, with annual consumption of 53.1 kWh and fluid dynamic efficiency rated E on the EU label.
