A freestanding under counter freezer holding 83 litres across three transparent drawers, with SuperFreeze for new food and a digital thermometer on the front panel.
The GTV15NWEBG is Bosch's Series 2 under counter freezer, an 85 by 56 cm white appliance that stands on its own or slots into a gap in a run of units. Its 83 litres are split across three transparent drawers, which makes it a sensible second freezer for a utility room, garage or small kitchen.
Freezing works in all three compartments, and the SuperFreezing function drops the temperature to protect what is already inside when you add a shop. It switches itself off again once the target is reached. A digital thermometer shows the freezer temperature, and both a light and a buzzer warn you if something is wrong.
Ideal for
Utility rooms
At 85 by 56 by 58 cm and 31.1 kg it fits a standard under counter gap, and the integrated horizontal handle keeps the front flush in a tight walkway.
Batch cooking
Freezing is possible in all three compartments and SuperFreezing brings the temperature down before you add a batch, so what is already frozen stays frozen.
Garage overflow
A climate class of SN-T covers cool and warm rooms alike, and the door hinge can be swapped to the left if the space demands it.
Key features
83 litre capacity
Three transparent freezer drawers hold 83 litres in total, and being able to see through them makes finding what you need quicker.
SuperFreezing function
A dedicated setting rapidly freezes newly added food and switches back to normal running automatically once the required temperature has been reached.
Digital freezer thermometer
The temperature inside is shown digitally on the front, so you can check the freezer is holding without opening a single drawer.
16 hour holdover
If the power fails, frozen food stays safe for up to 16 hours, which covers most short outages without a trip to the shops.
39 dB running
Noise emissions are measured at 39 dB(A), a noise class C figure that keeps the appliance unobtrusive in a kitchen or utility room.
Warning system
Both a visual and an audible signal alert you to a malfunction, so a problem is flagged before the contents of the freezer suffer.
More to know
Where an 83 litre freezer fits
Under counter freezers earn their place when the main appliance is a fridge freezer that keeps running out of frozen space. At 85 cm high, 56 cm wide and 58 cm deep, this one drops into a standard gap or stands alone in a utility room. Three transparent drawers divide the 83 litres sensibly, so bread, vegetables and batch-cooked meals each get their own level rather than forming one frozen block.
Adding food without thawing the rest
Putting a warm shop into a cold freezer raises the internal temperature, which can partially thaw what is already stored. SuperFreezing counters that by dropping the temperature ahead of time, then returning to normal running by itself once the target is met, so it does not sit there burning energy. Freezing is possible in all three compartments, and Bosch rates the appliance at 4.0 kg of fresh food frozen in 24 hours.
Running costs and the defrosting question
This is a manual defrost freezer with no NoFrost system, so ice will build up over time and you will need to empty it and defrost it occasionally. In return it is simple, and the interior uses metal applications to help transfer cold. Bosch rates it E on the current energy label at 164 kWh per year, and it runs at 39 dB(A). A four-star rating means it is suitable for freezing fresh food as well as storing it, and an ice cube tray is included.
