Full description
NEFF N50 60cm Wall-Mounted Chimney Cooker Hood
A 60cm stainless steel chimney hood from NEFF's N 50 range, pairing touch control with a 605 m³/h intensive setting that clears heavy cooking steam quickly.
The D64BHM1N0B is a classic box-design chimney hood for a 60cm hob, finished in stainless steel to sit naturally above most Irish kitchen layouts. It suits anyone replacing a tired hood or fitting out a new kitchen who wants straightforward, effective extraction without fuss, controlled by a flat touch panel rather than fiddly buttons.
The standout is the intensive setting. In everyday use the hood moves up to 368 m³/h of air at a restrained 60 dB, but when a pan starts spitting or a curry fills the room, one touch lifts extraction to 605 m³/h. It then reverts to the normal setting automatically after six minutes, so you never leave it roaring away unnecessarily.
Ideal For
Three speeds plus intensive cover everything from gently simmering soup to searing steak, and the touch panel makes switching between them a one-finger job while your hands are busy.
At 60cm wide with a telescopic chimney spanning 63.5 to 96.5cm in ducted installations, it fits neatly above a standard hob in a typical wall run of cabinets.
An optimised motor holds noise to 60 dB at maximum normal use, so conversation and radio survive dinner preparation rather than being drowned out by the fan.
Key Features
When steam gets intense, the boost setting raises extraction well above the 368 m³/h normal maximum, then automatically drops back after six minutes.
A flat, integrated control panel operates with a finger swipe and is far easier to wipe clean than raised switches.
Two LEDs at a warm 3500 K cast clear light over the hob, so you can judge colour and doneness properly while cooking.
The optimised motor keeps full-power everyday extraction to 60 dB, with quieter running at the lower two speeds.
Install it vented to the outside through a 150mm outlet, or recirculating with an optional Clean Air Plus kit where ducting is not practical.
Two aluminium mesh cassettes lift out and wash rather than being thrown away, keeping running costs down over the life of the hood.
Extraction that matches how you cook
Most cooking needs modest airflow, which is why the D64BHM1N0B gives you three graduated speeds topping out at 368 m³/h for normal use. The intensive setting exists for the other moments: frying at high heat, boiling a stockpot, or anything that fills the kitchen with steam and smells. At 605 m³/h it shifts air fast, and because it reverts automatically after six minutes you get the burst of power without the noise or energy cost lingering.
Designed to be lived with
A cooker hood earns its keep daily, so the details matter. The touch panel sits flush in the canopy, meaning grease has nowhere to collect around buttons and a single wipe keeps it presentable. The two metal grease filters unclip and wash rather than needing replacement. Twin LEDs light the hob at 3500 K, a warm white that flatters food without the blue cast of older lamps, and draw just 1.5W apiece.
Two ways to install it
Out of the box the hood is set up for ducted extraction, venting through a 150mm outlet with a 120mm adapter enclosed, and the telescopic chimney adjusts from 63.5 to 96.5cm to meet your ceiling height. If routing a duct outside is not practical, an optional Clean Air Plus recirculation kit filters the air and returns it to the room instead. Either way you should allow a minimum 55cm clearance above an electric hob and 65cm above gas, and installation on the wall is required, so factor a fitter into your plans.
How It Compares
| Kitchen Need | NEFF Technology | Practical Benefit |
|---|---|---|
| Weeknight dinners | 3-speed extraction | Graduated speeds up to 368 m³/h match airflow to the pan without running harder than needed |
| High-heat frying | Intensive setting | 605 m³/h clears smoke and spitting-pan haze fast, then reverts automatically after six minutes |
| Open-plan living | 60 dB max normal noise | The optimised motor keeps everyday extraction quiet enough to talk over in a shared space |
| Greasy cleanup | Flat touch panel | No raised buttons for grease to collect around; the panel wipes clean in one pass |
| No outside wall | Recirculation option | An optional Clean Air Plus kit filters and returns air where ducting outside is impossible |
| Dim evening cooking | 2 x 1.5W LEDs | Warm 3500 K light covers the hob clearly while drawing only three watts in total |
