Full description
NEFF N70 60cm Wall-Mounted Box Chimney Cooker Hood
A 60cm stainless steel box chimney hood from NEFF's N70 range, pairing an efficient BLDC motor with 657 m³/h intensive extraction and fingertip TouchControl operation.
The D65BMP5N0B is a wall-mounted box chimney hood built for standard 60cm hobs, finished in brushed stainless steel with a clean, architectural profile. It suits kitchens where the hood is on show and needs to earn its place, whether that is a galley layout or a run of units along one wall. Installation can be ducted outside or set up for recirculation.
At its heart is NEFF's EfficientDrive BLDC motor, which moves up to 414 m³/h in normal use and steps up to 657 m³/h when the two intensive settings are called on. Class A energy efficiency and an A fluid dynamic rating mean that performance does not come at the cost of running economy, with washable stainless steel filters keeping maintenance simple.
Ideal For
Sized for 60cm cooking zones, it covers the everyday four-ring hob found in most Irish kitchens without demanding extra wall width or rearranged cabinetry.
The stainless steel box design is meant to be seen. Where the hood forms part of the kitchen's look rather than hiding in a cupboard, it holds its own.
Convertible operation means it can duct to an outside wall or recirculate through a carbon filter, so awkward room layouts do not rule it out.
Key Features
The maximum normal setting shifts up to 414 cubic metres of air an hour, clearing steam and cooking smells from a busy hob.
Two intensive settings raise extraction to 657 m³/h for frying, searing or anything that fills the kitchen quickly with steam.
NEFF's brushless BLDC motor is engineered for quiet, energy-efficient running, helping the hood achieve its class A energy rating.
Speeds and lighting are managed by touch with fingerswipe operation, so settings change with a light stroke rather than a greasy knob.
Two 1.5 W LEDs light the hob below, with a dimmer function to take them from task lighting down to a soft evening glow.
Stainless steel grease filters go straight in the wash and a saturation indicator tells you when they need attention.
Designed to run economically
Extraction is one of those appliances that runs for hours a week, so efficiency matters more than it first appears. The D65BMP5N0B holds a class A energy rating with an A fluid dynamic efficiency class, driven by a brushless EfficientDrive motor. Interval ventilation can also cycle the fan automatically to keep air moving between cooking sessions, so the kitchen stays fresh without the hood running flat out.
Control that suits messy hands
Mid-cooking is exactly when you least want to fiddle with controls. The TouchControl panel responds to a fingertip, and fingerswipe operation lets you slide between the three speeds rather than pressing through them one by one. The same panel manages the dimmable LED lighting, which is genuinely useful twice over: bright while you cook, dimmed to a low ambient level once dinner is served.
Ducted power with a recirculating fall-back
Vented to an outside wall, this hood is at its best, moving 414 m³/h in normal use with 657 m³/h in reserve across its two intensive settings. The telescopic chimney adjusts from 58.2 to 90.8 cm to suit different ceiling heights. Where ducting is not practical, the hood converts to recirculation with a carbon filter, so a mid-terrace kitchen or an internal wall does not force a different model. Either way, the washable stainless steel grease filters and their saturation indicator keep upkeep to an occasional trip to the sink.
How It Compares
| Kitchen Need | NEFF Technology | Practical Benefit |
|---|---|---|
| Everyday simmering | 3-speed EfficientDrive motor | Low speeds handle gentle cooking quietly while the brushless motor keeps energy use down through long sessions. |
| Weekend fry-ups | 657 m³/h intensive settings | Two intensive stages clear heavy steam and cooking smells quickly, then the hood drops back to normal running. |
| Energy-conscious homes | Class A energy rating | An A-rated hood with A fluid dynamic efficiency keeps running costs sensible for something used daily. |
| Lingering odours | Interval ventilation | The fan cycles automatically at intervals to keep air circulating after cooking, freshening the kitchen without supervision. |
| Evening ambience | Dimmable LED lighting | Twin 1.5 W LEDs dim from bright task lighting to a soft glow once the cooking is finished. |
| Low-maintenance kitchens | Washable filters with indicator | Stainless steel grease filters wash clean and a saturation indicator removes the guesswork about when to do it. |

The Verdict
Strengths
- 414 m³/h normal and 657 m³/h intensive extraction
- Class A energy rating with efficient BLDC motor
- TouchControl with fingerswipe speed adjustment
- Dimmable twin LED hob lighting
- Washable stainless steel filters with saturation indicator
- Ducted or recirculating installation options
- Telescopic chimney suits varied ceiling heights
Considerations
- Recirculating installation needs a carbon filter and ducted installation needs a ducting kit; neither is included in the box.
- At full intensive power the noise level reaches 71 dB, so the top setting is one you use briefly rather than constantly.
- There is no app or Home Connect control; all operation is at the hood itself.
