How to choose frozen drink makers, air fryers and party speakers

Frozen drinks and frozen desserts need different amounts of planning
The SLUSHi works on the day: pour in juice, milk or a cocktail mix, pick a preset, and its WhisperChill compressor keeps the batch frozen until you serve it. A CREAMi works the other way round. For the CREAMi Deluxe you prep the base, freeze it in its tub overnight and process it before serving, so start the day before for ice cream, sorbet or Italian ice.
Two independent drawers let the mains and sides finish together
Sync on the DualZone XL, MAX Dual Zone and FlexDrawer times two programmes to end at the same moment, so the chicken and the chips come out together. Match, on the MAX Dual Zone and FlexDrawer, copies one drawer's settings to the other to double a batch. For a roast, take the divider out of the FlexDrawer: the MegaZone fits a 2kg leg of lamb with roast vegetables or a 2.3kg rolled pork shoulder.
Swap the plates to grill, griddle or cook to temperature
The Ninja Sizzle Pro XL and Foodi MAX PRO both take interchangeable grill and flat plates, so one appliance can sear meat and then cook pancakes. The Sizzle Pro XL's ProTemp iQ dial sets 120°C to 260°C, and its ventilated lid goes up for searing or down to hold in moisture with minimal smoke. The Foodi MAX PRO adds a Smart Cook probe that measures the middle of the meat rather than the air around it.
Karaoke needs microphones and a way to remove the vocals
If the night ends in singing, check what comes in the box. The soundcore Rave 3S includes two wireless mics and AI vocal removal, which strips the original singer from a track, plus inputs for a wired mic or guitar. The JBL PartyBox Encore 2 comes with a microphone. The JBL EasySing Mics add wireless mics and AI vocal removal to a compatible source through a USB-C receiver.

Does the Ninja SLUSHi need ice?
No, it freezes the liquid itself, so drinks are not watered down. A batch turns to slush in as little as 30 minutes and stays frozen for up to 12 hours. Fill the vessel with no more than 1.9 litres of liquid.
Do the Aarke and Philips sparkling water makers need a socket?
No. The Aarke Carbonator 3, Aarke Carbonator Pro and Philips GoZero all work manually, so they can stand anywhere on the worktop, and the GoZero keeps working in a power cut. The Aarke models take standard 400 to 425g/60L cylinders from brands such as AGA, Linde and SodaStream, but not Quick Connect ones.
Can party speakers be linked to fill a bigger room?
Yes, if they are compatible. The JBL PartyBox Encore 2 and PartyBox 130 use Auracast to link to other compatible JBL speakers, and the soundcore Rave 3S supports Auracast and PartyCast. The Majority Pulse P2 has TWS stereo pairing, and its two 6.5 inch drivers give stereo separation from a single cabinet.
How many people can a Ninja air fryer feed?
Up to eight, or more with the FlexDrawer. The Double Stack XL is rated for up to 8 people, and the FlexDrawer fits enough food for 8+ with its divider out. With the divider in, each 5.2L FlexDrawer zone takes up to a 2kg chicken or 1.5kg of chips.
How much ice cream does a Ninja CREAMi make?
It depends on the tub. The CREAMi XL has two 710ml tubs, so a second flavour is ready while the first is eaten. The Scoop & Swirl uses two 480ml tubs, each about four cones. The Deluxe uses larger 24 oz tubs and can turn one frozen base into two flavours.
