The phone's port decides which earphones and cables will work
If a phone has no headphone socket, earphones either connect over Bluetooth or plug into USB-C. The Sony WF-C510 and soundcore R50i use Bluetooth 5.3, and the Groov-e Vibe Buds ANC Bluetooth 5.4. For cables, the Intenso C60C pack is USB-C at both ends and rated for 60 W, while the Anker 1.8 m braided cable carries up to 240 W, enough for a laptop that charges over USB-C.
A 10,000 mAh power bank covers a normal day out
Our power bank guide puts 10,000 mAh at about two phone charges and 20,000 mAh at four to five, the size for a weekend away. The Anker Nano, Intenso F10000 and Groov-e 10000mAh are the pocket size; the Intenso weighs 222 g and shows its charge as a percentage. The Groov-e 20000mAh is the weekend choice and recharges over USB-C or micro-USB. USB-C Power Delivery charges a compatible phone faster than a basic USB connection.
A smart plug controls what is already there; a light strip adds new light
The Tapo P100 two-pack switches lamps and small appliances by app, schedule or voice, and the P110 and P110M also report what the connected appliance draws. A light strip adds light where there was none: the L900-5 suits the back of a TV, a desk or a headboard, and the L900-10 is long enough to go around a ceiling or along a run of kitchen units. Which earphones work with a phone that has no headphone socket?
Wireless earbuds such as the Sony WF-C510, or wired earphones that plug into USB-C, such as the Sony IER-EX15C and JBL Tune 310C. The Sony IER-EX15C suits phones, tablets and laptops that support USB Audio Class 1.0, and has inline play, volume and mute controls.
Can a power bank charge two devices at once?
Yes, if it has more than one port. The Intenso F10000 charges over its USB-A and USB-C ports at the same time, and the Groov-e 10000mAh has two USB-A ports and a USB-C, enough for a phone, a pair of earbuds and a second phone.
Do Tapo smart plugs and light strips need a hub?
No. The Tapo L900-5 and L900-10 light strips connect straight to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, and neither needs a hub. The plugs connect over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi too, and the Matter-certified P110M also works in Apple Home and SmartThings as well as Alexa and Google.
Do the Energizer wireless charging stands come with a plug?
No. The WCP303 comes with a USB-C cable and no AC adapter, and the WCP108 lists a USB-C charging cable as its included accessory. Plug either into a USB-C wall charger. The WCP303 charges an iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods together, at up to 15 W for the phone.
Which Kenwood hand mixer can knead dough?
The HMP30, which comes with two dough hooks as well as two beaters and has a 450 W motor with five speeds and pulse. The HMP10 has a 300 W motor and two beaters, with a slow start that cuts flour splashes. On both, the attachments release once the mixer has stopped.
