Match a smartwatch to their phone and their charging habits
Our fitness tracker vs smartwatch guide compares the two. Then check the phone it will pair with. The Garmin vivoactive 5 pairs with iPhone and Android, and the Withings ScanWatch 2 works with iOS 16 and Android 9 or later. The Galaxy Watch9's Running Coach programmes need a compatible Android phone, and the Fitbit Versa 4 sends quick replies on Android.
Start a first drone with obstacle sensing and simple controls
DJI describes the Lito 1 as a first drone: omnidirectional obstacle sensing and ActiveTrack subject tracking help make flying more approachable. The Flip adds a full-coverage propeller guard and 3D ToF sensors that brake automatically, and the Neo 2 takes off from the palm and responds to gestures. For a keen photographer, the Mini 5 Pro shoots 50MP stills and 4K/60fps HDR video, and its gimbal turns 225° for vertical shots. The Neo 2 and Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combos come with three batteries and a charging hub.
Check which devices the earbuds pair with, and how they handle calls
The AirPods 4 pair automatically with iPhone, iPad and Mac, and need iOS 18, iPadOS 18 or macOS Sequoia or later. The Shokz OpenFit Air connect to two devices and switch between them, and the Sony WF-C710N also have multipoint connection. For calls, the JBL Live Beam 4 use a six-microphone system, the AirPods 4 Voice Isolation and the Sony WF-C710N AI-based voice pickup. The soundcore Liberty 5 add LDAC and Dolby Audio for wireless sound quality.
Read a tablet's energy label as well as its screen size
Since 20 June 2025, tablets sold in the EU carry an energy label, explained in our guide to the new labels. It gives an energy class from A to G, battery endurance per charge, the charge cycles before capacity falls to 80%, a repairability class and an IP rating. The Galaxy Tab A11 is class C, the Tab A11+ E and the Tab S10 Lite F. The Tab A11+ label shows 96 hours per charge and 1,200 cycles, and it is set to receive at least five years of OS updates.

What should I check before flying a drone?
Check the rules for where you will fly before the first flight; DJI's notes for the Flip ask pilots to follow local laws and regulations. Then check the weight: the Lito 1 and Flip weigh under 249 g, the Neo 2 under 250 g and the Mini 5 Pro 249.9 g.
Which smartwatch lasts longest between charges?
The Withings ScanWatch 2, at up to 35 days: it is a hybrid watch with a greyscale display. The Garmin vivoactive 5 runs up to 11 days as a smartwatch, or 21 hours with GPS on, and the Fitbit Versa 4 6+ days. The Samsung Galaxy Watch9 is rated for up to 40 hours.
How long do wireless earbuds last on a charge?
It depends on the pair and whether noise cancelling is on. The AirPods 4 give 5 hours, 30 with the case; the Shokz OpenFit Air 6 hours, 28 in total; the Sony WF-C710N 8.5 hours with noise cancelling on; and the soundcore Liberty 5 12 hours, 48 with the case and ANC off.
Which earbuds suit running and workouts?
The Shokz OpenFit Air: a flexible Ni-Ti memory alloy earhook holds them in place, and their IP54 rating covers sweat during workouts. The JBL Live Beam 4 and soundcore Liberty 5 are rated IP55, the AirPods 4 IP54 for dust, sweat and water, and the Sony WF-C710N IPX4.
Which tablet comes with a stylus?
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Lite: its S Pen is in the box, for notes and sketches on the 10.9-inch, 90Hz screen. Handwriting Help straightens lines and tidies handwritten notes, and Solve Math works out supported handwritten equations. The charging adapter is not included, so check there is a USB-C charger at home.
