The Series 6 MBA578BS7B is a built-in double oven that cleans itself. Both the 71 litre main cavity and the 34 litre top cavity have pyrolytic programmes, which is unusual in a double oven and removes the least popular job in any kitchen. The finish is stainless steel, with retractable pop-out dials and a white LCD display.
Where it really pulls ahead is the function list. Nine main oven functions run from 3D Hotair and a pizza function to low temperature cooking, defrost and keep warm, with a range from 30°C to 275°C. AutoPilot 30 adds thirty pre-set automatic programmes, and Home Connect lets you monitor and control the oven remotely.

Self-cleaning that covers both ovens
Pyrolytic cleaning is common enough in a single oven, and much rarer across both cavities of a double. Here the 71 litre main oven and the 34 litre top oven each have their own programme, so the grill cavity that usually collects the worst of the splatter is covered too. An electronic door lock, automatic safety switch-off, residual heat indicator and integral cooling fan sit behind it, and the halogen interior light switches with the door.
Nine functions and thirty programmes
The main cavity runs 3D Hotair for three-level baking, conventional top and bottom heat, Hotair grilling, a full-width variable grill, a pizza function, low temperature cooking, defrost, keep warm and Hotair gentle. Temperatures start at 30°C, which suits proving and gentle work as much as roasting at the top of the range. AutoPilot 30 sits over the top with thirty pre-set programmes, and the top cavity adds four functions of its own, including bottom heat.
Installation, energy and connectivity
The oven needs a fixed 6.3 kW connection wired in by a qualified electrician; there is no plug on this model. The niche measures 875 to 888 mm high, 560 to 568 mm wide and 550 mm deep, and the appliance itself is 88.8 x 59.4 x 55.0 cm and 58.0 kg, so it is a two-person lift into a tall housing unit.
