Bosch Series 8 Built-In Single Combi-Steam Oven with PerfectBake Plus and PerfectRoast Plus
A full-size 71-litre Series 8 oven with a proper steam system, automatic baking and roasting programmes, and a meat probe that decides when the joint is done.
The HSG7584B1 is a 60cm built-in oven that adds a full steam system to a 71-litre cavity, rather than the single water bowl found further down the range. Twenty-three heating methods cover 4D Hotair, conventional heat, grilling, intensive heat, low temperature cooking, dehydrating, dough proving and steam cooking. It is an oven for someone who cooks with intent and wants the appliance to help.
PerfectBake Plus and PerfectRoast Plus are the automatic programmes. The meat probe reads the core temperature of a joint, so a roast is judged by temperature rather than by clock and guesswork. Steam Function Plus adds gentle cooking up to 120 °C across three steam levels, with Steam Boost for three minutes of intensive steam when bread needs it.
Ideal For
PerfectRoast Plus with a meat probe reads the core temperature of the joint, so beef comes out where you asked for it rather than where the timer landed.
A proper steam system with three intensity levels, steam cooking, reheating with steam and dough proving, plus three steam containers supplied to use them with.
PerfectBake Plus handles the automatic side, Steam Boost gives a loaf its humid start, and an enamel baking tray, grid and universal pan all come in the box.
Key Features
A full-size 71-litre cavity, so adding steam does not cost you the space a large roast needs on a Sunday.
4D Hotair, conventional heat, full and half width grill, intensive heat, low temperature cooking, dehydrate, dough proving, defrost, warming, steam cooking and reheating with steam.
Steam Function Plus runs gentle steam cooking at up to 120 °C with three selectable levels, and Steam Boost adds three minutes of intensive steam on demand.
A meat probe measures the core temperature inside the joint, which is the only reliable way to know how a large piece of meat is actually doing.
The Pro display pairs with a Digital Control Ring, and Home Connect plus the Oven Assistant with Voice Control handle the setting up.
An enamel baking tray, grid, universal pan, three steam containers and an Air Fry and Grill tray all come in the box.
What a full steam system changes
Steam changes how heat moves into food. Run it gently at up to 120 °C and vegetables keep their colour, fish stays intact and reheated leftovers taste like they were cooked rather than microwaved. Turn it up as Steam Boost, three minutes of intensive steam into a hot cavity, and bread gets the humid start that lets it rise fully before the crust sets. Three steam containers come with the oven, two punched for steaming and one solid for anything that would drip.
Automatic programmes and the probe
PerfectBake Plus and PerfectRoast Plus are Bosch's automatic modes, and the meat probe is what makes the roasting side trustworthy. You set a target core temperature, push the probe into the thickest part of the joint and let the oven watch it. That removes the two variables that ruin roasts: an oven that runs hot or cold, and a piece of meat that is thicker than the recipe assumed. It also means you can open the door less.
Cleaning, fitting and everyday handling
Cleaning here is catalytic rather than pyrolytic. EcoClean Direct coats the ceiling, back panel and side liners, and a hydrolytic programme handles the rest. It is a lower-temperature approach than pyrolysis, which does mean the oven will not burn itself back to bare enamel after a heavy roast. The appliance is 59.5 by 59.4 by 54.8 cm and needs a niche 58.5 to 59.5 cm high, 56.0 to 56.8 cm wide and 55.0 cm deep. At 40.5 kg it is a genuine two-person lift into a tall housing.
How It Compares
| Kitchen Need | Bosch Technology | Practical Benefit |
|---|---|---|
| Sunday roast | PerfectRoast Plus meat probe | Core temperature is measured inside the joint, so doneness is a reading rather than a guess. |
| Steamed vegetables | Steam Function Plus | Gentle steam to 120 °C at three selectable levels keeps colour and texture where dry heat would not. |
| Home bread | Steam Boost | Three minutes of intensive steam at the start of the bake gives the loaf room to rise. |
| Batch cooking | 71-litre cavity | Full-size capacity means the steam functions do not come at the cost of roasting space. |
| Reheating leftovers | Reheating with steam | A dedicated mode brings food back up to temperature without drying the edges out. |
| Crisp finishes | Air Fry and Grill tray | The tray is supplied, so crisping chips or wings needs no separate appliance on the worktop. |

The Verdict
Strengths
- 71-litre usable cavity with a full steam system
- 23 heating methods including 4D Hotair and dehydrate
- Steam Function Plus to 120 °C, three steam levels
- PerfectBake Plus and PerfectRoast Plus with meat probe
- TFT Touch Display Pro with Digital Control Ring
- Seven accessories supplied, including three steam containers
- A+ rated; 0.69 kWh per fan-forced cycle
Considerations
- Cleaning is EcoClean Direct plus a hydrolytic programme; this model does not have pyrolytic self-cleaning.
- Maximum temperature is 250 °C rather than the 275 °C of Bosch's non-steam Series 8 oven, worth knowing if you bake pizza very hot.
- It is a built-in oven weighing 40.5 kg and drawing 3.6 kW, so it needs a suitable housing unit and a two-person lift to install.
