NEFF N50 90cm Ceiling Cooker Hood with Remote Control
A 90cm ceiling cooker hood that sits flush overhead, moving up to 798 m³/h on intensive while Home Connect links it to a compatible hob automatically.
The I95CAQ6N0B is NEFF's N 50 ceiling hood: a 90cm stainless steel unit that recesses into the ceiling above an island or peninsula, leaving the sightline across the kitchen completely open. It suits open-plan homes and island layouts where a conventional chimney hood would dominate the room, and anyone who wants extraction handled quietly from above.
Its twin-channel fan with efficient BLDC technology shifts up to 458 m³/h in normal use at just 56 dB, rising to 798 m³/h across two intensive settings when cooking gets serious. Control comes from the included infrared remote, or through Home Connect, where a Wi-Fi enabled hob can drive the hood's extraction and lighting automatically as you cook.
Ideal For
Mounted flush in the ceiling above an island hob, it extracts effectively without a canopy hanging at head height or blocking the view across an open-plan room.
Two intensive settings on top of three power levels reach 798 m³/h, enough to deal with wok cooking, searing and big-pot boiling on a full-width 90cm hob.
Home Connect brings app control, voice control and hob-hood automation, so extraction adjusts itself while your attention stays on the pans.
Key Features
Three power levels and two intensive settings top out at 798 m³/h, with 458 m³/h available in normal use for everyday cooking.
The twin-channel BLDC fan motor is engineered for quiet running, holding maximum normal extraction to 56 dB overhead.
The 30cm-deep unit recesses into a 29.9 x 88.8 x 48.7cm niche, sitting flat to the ceiling above an island or peninsula.
Paired with a Wi-Fi enabled hob via Home Connect, the hood adjusts its extraction and lighting automatically as you cook.
Four LEDs with a softLight dimmer light the hob from above at 3500 K, adjustable from the remote control.
An A energy class and 34 kWh annual consumption make it one of the more efficient ways to ventilate a 90cm cooking zone.
Extraction without the visual bulk
Island kitchens usually force a compromise: hang a chimney hood in the middle of the room, or go without proper ventilation. A ceiling hood removes the dilemma. The I95CAQ6N0B recesses fully into the ceiling, presenting only a flat stainless steel and metal grease filter face overhead. Rim ventilation draws steam across the whole 90cm width, and a rotatable motor lets the installer position the air outlet on any of the four sides to suit the joist run.
Control from wherever you are
Because the hood sits overhead, NEFF includes an infrared remote for speeds, the two intensive settings and the dimmable lights. Home Connect extends this: with the app you can operate and monitor the hood from a phone, use voice control where the service is available, and unlock interval and silence functions. Best of all, pair it with a Wi-Fi enabled hob and hob-hood control adjusts extraction automatically to match what is happening on the rings.
Plan the installation properly
This is a fitted appliance and deserves proper planning. It needs a 29.9cm-deep ceiling niche measuring 88.8 x 48.7cm, a minimum 65cm clearance above the hob, and either 150mm ducting to the outside or an optional CleanAir Plus recirculation kit if venting out is not possible. At 20.6 kg it must be mounted securely, so professional installation is the sensible route. Once in, maintenance is straightforward: the stainless steel grease filters are washable, a saturation indicator tells you when they need attention, and the inner frame is designed for easy cleaning.
How It Compares
| Kitchen Need | NEFF Technology | Practical Benefit |
|---|---|---|
| Island hob layouts | Flush ceiling mounting | Extraction comes from above with no canopy at head height and no interrupted sightlines |
| Open-plan kitchen noise | 56 dB BLDC motor | Full normal power stays quiet enough for conversation and television in the same room |
| Wok and sear cooking | Two intensive settings | Up to 798 m³/h clears heavy smoke and steam from a full-width 90cm hob quickly |
| Hands-full cooking | Hob-hood automatic control | A Wi-Fi enabled hob drives extraction and lighting for you through Home Connect |
| Evening ambience | Dimmable softLight LEDs | Four 3W LEDs dim smoothly from the remote, doubling as gentle overhead kitchen lighting |
| Forgetting to switch off | 10-minute after-running | The hood keeps clearing residual steam after cooking, then shuts itself down automatically |

The Verdict
Strengths
- Flush ceiling fit keeps island kitchens visually open
- 798 m³/h maximum extraction across two intensive settings
- Quiet 56 dB running at maximum normal use
- Home Connect app, voice and hob-hood control
- Included infrared remote with dimmer function
- A energy rating, 34 kWh annual consumption

Considerations
- Requires a 29.9cm-deep ceiling niche and secure mounting for a 20.6 kg appliance, so professional installation should be budgeted for.
- Recirculation needs an optional CleanAir Plus kit; without it the hood must be ducted out through 150mm pipework.
- Grease filtering efficiency is rated class E, so regular washing of the filters matters to keep performance up.
