The Nextbase Series 2 Cabin View Camera is a plug-in camera module designed to record inside a vehicle and through the side windows. Its 140° wide-angle cabin lens is particularly relevant to taxi and private-hire drivers, or anyone who wants an additional record of occupants and activity beside the car. Installation is direct: the module clicks into the side of a compatible Nextbase front dash cam, so there is no separate rear cable to route through the vehicle.
Compatibility is limited to the Nextbase 322GW, 422GW, 522GW and 622GW, and the module does not work with Piqo. Recording resolution depends on the front camera: a 622GW can record 4K front with 1080p rear, while 422GW/522GW users can select 1080p front/rear or 1440p front with 720p rear; the 322GW records 1080p front with 720p rear. This is a purpose-built expansion module rather than a standalone camera.

Unlike a rear-road module, the Cabin View Camera uses a broad 140° lens to show occupants and the view through the side windows. That makes it the most suitable Series 2 module when the vehicle interior matters.
Resolution adapts to the host dash cam
The front camera automatically balances its recording mode with the second video stream. The highest paired setting is 4K front and 1080p rear when used with the 622GW.
How It Compares
The Cabin View Camera uses a wide 140° lens for the vehicle interior and side windows. The Rear View Camera instead uses a narrow 30° telephoto lens through the cabin toward the road behind, while the Rear Window Camera mounts at the rear glass with a 140° rear-road view.
