Pyrolytic self-cleaning is the headline. The oven heats the cavity until baked-on grease turns to ash, which you wipe out with a cloth, and an electronic door lock holds everything shut while it runs. There is a hydrolytic programme for lighter jobs too. Fourteen heating methods include a dedicated Air Fry mode, and the Air Fry and Grill tray is supplied rather than sold separately.

Pyrolytic cleaning, and what it costs you
Pyrolysis works by heating the empty cavity until grease and spills carbonise. What is left is a fine ash you sweep out with a damp cloth, and the enamel is back to bare. The electronic door lock engages for the duration, which is why the door is quadruple glazed with heat-reflective glass. It is the single feature that most changes how people feel about their oven, because the alternative is a bottle of caustic gel and an afternoon. A hydrolytic programme is also there for lighter, quicker jobs.
Air Fry without the extra appliance
Air frying is really just fast, very dry convection, and Bosch has built it in as one of the fourteen heating methods rather than a marketing badge. The Air Fry and Grill tray comes in the box, which matters: on several Bosch ovens it is an optional accessory you have to buy. Combined with a 71-litre cavity, that means a full family batch of chips in one go rather than two rounds in a small basket.
Controls, connectivity and installation
The fascia is glass with a TFT touch display and a Digital Control Ring: turn the ring to set values. Home Connect adds app control, and the Oven Assistant with Voice Control will set a programme from a spoken instruction. On installation, the oven measures 59.5 by 59.4 by 54.8 cm and needs a niche 58.5 to 59.5 cm high, 56.0 to 56.8 cm wide and 55.0 cm deep. It weighs 36.9 kg and has no plug fitted, so the 3.6 kW supply must be wired in by an electrician.
