The Powerpoint P1271185MRIN is a 380-litre upright fridge that can become a 380-litre freezer when you need it to. Hold a button on the LED display and the whole cabinet switches from fridge mode, adjustable between 2°C and 8°C, to freezer mode at -16°C to -24°C, which makes it a flexible second appliance for a large family, a holiday home or the run-up to Christmas.

It is fully frost free, so there is no defrosting in either mode, and an inverter compressor keeps noise to 39dB. Glass shelves, drawers and door racks suit the fridge role, with fast cooling, fast freezing, a door alarm, a child lock and an LED light built in. At 71cm wide and 185cm tall it stands alone or joins the matching P1271185MFZIN freezer with the supplied joining kit.

Powerpoint's P1271185MRIN is a freestanding 71cm-wide hybrid refrigerator in a stainless steel finish, 185.5cm tall and 77cm deep, with 380 litres of usable space and a single door. It is set up in its fridge configuration, with glass shelves, bottle racks in the door and three full-width drawers at the bottom, but an electronic control system lets the entire compartment run as a freezer instead: press and hold the minus key for three seconds to change mode.

In freezer mode the EU registration gives it a four-star rating with a freezing capacity of 17.2kg in 24 hours, and a fast freezing programme drops the cabinet to -32°C for up to 26 hours; fast cooling holds 2°C in fridge mode. The frost-free system defrosts automatically, the inverter compressor is rated at 39dB, and the EU label places it in class E at 282kWh a year, registered for ambient temperatures from 10°C to 43°C. The door is reversible, with an easy-grip handle and an alarm if it is left open.

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) is taken back free of charge on a one-for-one, like-for-like basis. Waste batteries including rechargeable batteries are taken back free of charge. You are not obliged to make any purchase when returning old batteries. Each local authority must also accept household WEEE and small batteries free of charge at its recycling facilities. All WEEE and waste batteries must be recycled and should not be placed in any of your household wheelie bins. Make sure you always recycle all your old electrical goods and batteries.
